elite runner, Gary, husband, NYPD, pace runner, redhead, sexy wheels
This is me coming up on, then passing, one of the elite runners. At this point in the race, I believe he was in first place – but I’m not positive about that. He had a posse of pace runners and protectors next to him the whole way. He passed me while I was struggling up the second bridge, and then of course I got to pass him on the way down – one of the benefits of being on wheels!
I was so in love with the crowds of folks cheering everybody on during the race. They hollered especially loudly for this guy, understandably. Thing is, they kept yelling even when it was just me, which meant a great deal. One of my favorite shout-outs came from an NYPD officer off to the side, who yelled “Go, redheaded sexy wheels, go!”
Would you believe I even checked behind me to make sure he was talking to me?
He was!!!
Thanks, dude, whoever you are. I’ll never forget that :0)
Photos are by my husband, Gary. He said it’s my own fault they’re blurry because I was going so fast. I’ll take that. LOL
Looks like so much FUN!
